Saturday April 18	Ocean to Bay Bike Tour Bethany Beach, DE. 25, 35, and 50 miles courses through the beautiful coastal and inland bay areas of Bethany Beach-Fenwick Island, Delaware. Sponsored by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce. Rest stops are available throughout the ride. All pre-registered riders are guaranteed a long-sleeved tee shirt and goody bag. Children 18 and under ride for only $15! Form a team and save! Teams of 6 or more cyclists register for just $25 each, individual registrations cost $30 ($35 after April 10).
Saturday March 28	Icicle Metric Newark, DE. 22, 31, and 62 miles from the University of Delaware over moderately hilly terrain in the area west and north of Newark. Sponsored by the White Clay Bicycle Club. $15 ($12 if received via mail by March 20). The Icicle may be your first chance to stretch your legs on a long ride after the long, cold, winter. Snacks will be available at the start and the traditional well-stocked, indoor food stop will add to the camaraderie of the day. NOTE: You do not have to decide to do the 100 km route until after you've tested out your legs on the early portion of the combined routes. All registrants will receive a water bottle as a souvenir of the ride. This is a great way to start the season.
Friday April 24 - Sunday April 26	2009 Face of America Bike Ride Bethesda, MD to Gettysburg, PA. Ride with servicemen and women who have been severely injured in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is NO charge for all active duty servicemen and women, both able-bodied and disabled. There is a $ 50 registration fee and a $ 400 minimum fundraising fee for all other participants.
Saturday April 25	Ride to End Hunger in Calvert County Huntingtown, MD. 15, 36, 46, and 63 miles on the scenic Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Sponsored by End Hunger in Calvert County with proceeds going to food pantries in Calvert County. Pedal along the bayfront, marinas, farmland and a local winery while you enjoy the company of friends. At the end of the day, you'll feel even better knowing your registration fee will help feed a hungry family. $35 early registration includes t-shirt, $50 after April 15.
Saturday April 25	Tour de Carroll Westminster, MD. 8, 25, 36, and 63 miles. Benefits Family and Children’s Adult Day Services (the county’s only nonprofit organization offering medical day services to low-income seniors). $30 covers lunch, including homemade brownies and ice cream, Tour de Carroll T-shirt, 30-day pass to Westminster Family Center Full Service Gym ($55 value), and door prizes.
Saturday April 25	Pennsylvania State Police Benefit Bicycle Ride Hersey, PA. 6.6 - 62+ miles through the picturesque Hershey area and the pastoral Lebanon Valley of Pennsylvania. The registration fee is $25 per rider, regardless of whether you pre-register or register on the day of the event. However, all who pre-register prior to April 1st, 2009 will will receive a Commemorative T-Shirt. Sponsored by the Harrisburg Bicycle Club and The Pennsylvania State Police Historical, Educational and Memorial Center.
Saturday April 25	ROAR for Autism Oregon Ridge Park, 13401 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, MD. 10, 20 and 50 miles. Also a 5-mile ride designed for beginner cyclists, and a kid’s youth fun ride. Ride through some of Baltimore County’s most scenic neighborhoods. ROAR is a bike ride, hike and festival organized to raise funds for Kennedy Krieger Institute’s autism research and treatment programs. $25 by April 22; then $30. Children 12 and under are $5 before April 22, then $10. Children 4 and under participate free. Register by April 15 to receive a free t-shirt.
Saturday April 25	Pedal for Pooches Briggs Animal Adoption Center, Charles Town, WV. 16, 21, 30 and 35 miles through beautiful historic Jefferson and Clarke Counties of West Virginia. $25.00 includes t-shirt; $30 after April 17.
Saturday May 2	Kinetic Sculpture Race Baltimore, MD. Hosted by the American Visionary Art Museum (on Key Highway). Totally human-powered works of art to travel the streets of Baltimore, then into the Harbor, then through a mud pit and a sand pit in Patterson Park and back to the Art Museum. An all day event.
Sunday May 3	Eco-Ride! Bike for a Greener Maryland Pearlstone Conference & Retreat Center, Reisterstown, MD. 6, 18, 30, 60 mile supported ride through Baltimore County farmlands. Biking to support the Kayam Farm at Pearlstone Center - Tax Deductible Registration Fee. $36 for adults, $18 for children under 13, $72 for families. $100 minimum fundraising commitment per adult, family, or team.
Saturday May 9	Maryland Horse Country Tour de Cure Cooksville, MD. 10, 31, and 62 miles from the Glenwood Community Center. Cycle through the valleys of western Howard County where Maryland's famed horse country meets Civil War history. Registration fee of $15.00 until March 30, then $25.00. All cyclists must raise the minimum of $150 to participate, in addition to the registration fee. Sponsored by the American Diabetes Association.
Saturday May 9	Capital to Capital Bike Ride - Cap2Cap Rocketts Landing, Richmond, VA or Chickahominy Riverfront Park, Williamsburg, VA. 25, 50, and 100 mile from your choice: Richmond or Williamsburg. Enjoy some of the most stunning scenery Virginia has to offer, while pedaling through 400 years of history. A free youth and family kids course in Richmond, a 15-Mile Family Route on the Virginia Capital Trail from Williamsburg, a mass start parade with lots of fanfare for each distance, on-road support, and lunch at the finish line, and food and drink available at rest stops throughout each route. Proceeds benefit the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation. Registration fee of $40 before April 15 ($50 between April 15 and May 5; $75 on ride day). Group discount (sign up 4, 5th is free).
Friday May 15 - Sunday May 17	Tour de Chesapeake Mathews County, VA. 5 to 62 miles. Celebrate the arrival of spring with a bike tour through the wonderful, scenic and flat Mathews County backroads along the Chesapeake Bay. Registration includes t-shirt and hot shower. Saturday May 16	Charles County’s Heritage Bike Ride Nanjemoy, MD. 15, 32 and 62 miles from the Nanjemoy Community Center. Sponsored by the Charles County Department of Community Services & the Nanjemoy Community Center. Resident Fee: $25; Non-Resident: $27; Day of Registration: add $5. Preregistration Deadline: May 8 (T-shirts are guaranteed for all who register by May 8.)
Saturday May 16	PPTC National Mall Tour Washington, DC. 18 miles from Tenleytown /AU Metro Station, 4501 Wisconsin Ave, NW, Washington. A delightful afternoon tour, perfect for friends and family to join, featuring the finest sights of our Nation’s Capital. Route will depart from Tenley cycling by the National Cathedral, through Rock Creek Park to Georgetown to pick up riders at a remote start location. Cycle along the Potomac past the Kennedy Center, with a stop at the Lincoln Memorial to view the Washington Monument, cycle to the Jefferson Memorial for a stop, then past the Smithsonian museums along the Mall to the Capitol building with a stop at the U.S. Botanical Garden. Loop back past the National Gallery and the White House. Then we return on a gradual ascent back to Tenley. For a shorter ride option, there will be a 3:30pm remote start in Georgetown at Cycle Life USA, 3255 K St., NW. Registration begins at 2:30 in front of Starbucks by the Tenley Metro elevator. Participants will be given a cue sheet at registration. Parents: please note, parts of the ride will be on city streets with traffic. Helmets are required. Saturday May 16	PPTC Moonlight National Mall Tour Washington, DC. 18 miles from Tenley, going past the National Cathedral, through Rock Creek Park to Georgetown with at stop at Cycle Life USA. Enjoy a romantic evening tour of Washington’s finest landmarks illuminated against the nighttime sky with frequent stops to absorb the sights. Cycle along the Potomac past the Kennedy Center, with a stop at the Lincoln Memorial to view the Washington Monument perfectly mirrored in the Reflecting Pool. Cycle to the Jefferson Memorial, then the Smithsonian museums along the Mall to the Capitol building. Loop back past the National Gallery and the White House. Then we return on a gradual ascent back to Tenley. Registration begins at 8:00 pm in front of Starbucks near the Tenley Metro elevator. Rides depart in two waves, one at 8:30, second at 9:00. Participants will be given a cue sheet at registration. Helmets are required. All bikes must be equipped with working headlights and taillights. Sunday May 17	Bike MS: Crankin’ for a Cure 2009 Appoquinimink High School, 1080 Bunker Hill Rd., Middletown DE. 30 or 60 miles. Scenic route through rural Delaware to Blackbird State Forest and back—with all the amenities you have come to expect. Take part in a practice run for Bike to the Bay! At the end of the ride, enjoy a light lunch and beverages. All participants will also receive an event T-shirt—free! Top fundraisers will be awarded gift certificates from local bike shops. Saturday May 23	Soft Shell Metric Century Crisfield High School, 210 N. Somerset Avenue, Crisfield, MD. 23 and 62 miles. Enjoy waterfront views, scenic woodlands and some of Maryland’s most historic locales in lower Somerset County. $25 ($35 after Saturday, May 16) includes T-shirt. The Crisfield Heritage Foundation offers free tours of the restored workshop of famed decoy carvers Lem and Steve Ward for this year’s participants. Sponsored by the Salisbury Jaycees.

Saturday May 30	Casa ROCK Bike Ride Shepherdstown, WV. 25, 50, and 100 mile road rides and 10 and 25 mile tow path rides supported with rest stops and sag. ROCK! Ride On for CASA Kids. Ride through the beautiful Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia in a fun event that raises funds to support the Court Appointed Special Advocates program benefitting abused and neglected kids. Sunday May 31	Shenandoah Valley Heritage Ride Winchester, VA. 10, 30, 50, and 70 miles follow beautiful, historic routes through the Shenandoah Valley from the Winchester Medical Center on West Amherst Street in Winchester. Sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Shenandoah Valley. This year ’s fundraising event will start at The Winchester Medical Center on West Amherst Street in Winchester, Virginia, and follow the same beautiful, historic routes as last year through the Shenandoah Valley for 30, 50 and 70 miles.
Friday June 5 - Sunday June 7	Chesapeake Bay Air Ride Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD. 20, 40, 62.5 or 100 miles on Saturday and 20, 40 or 62.5 miles on Sunday. CBAR is a weekend long, pledge-based bike tour and inline skating event. Open to all cyclists/skaters, novice to expert. Routes go through Wicomico, Somerset and Worcester Counties to Assateague Island or along the shorelines. CBAR raises money for the American Lung Association to prevent lung disease and promote lung health through education, programs and research. Start/finish, lodging, and activities, including our famous crab feast, are held at Salisbury University. Registration fee of $40 covers event t-shirt, full SAG support and stocked rest stops along the route, BBQ on Friday night, crab feast/dinner & awards party Saturday night, and Lunch on Sunday. Saturday June 6	Pedal to Preserve Garden Spot Village, 433 South Knizer Avenue, New Holland, PA. 6, 20, and 51 mile through part of Lancaster County's preserved farmland. Proceeds benefit Lancaster Farmland Trust and help preserve Lancaster County farmland. $25 in advance/$35 day-of-ride/Children under 12 ride free with adult.
Saturday June 13	Patuxent River Rural Legacy Ride Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary, Croom, MD. 24, 46, or 62 miles from the Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary, with rest stops at Mt Calvert, an 18th century manor house, at a beach-park where Magruder’s Ferry once crossed the Patuxent, and at Eagle Harbor in a shady yard overlooking the Patuxent. Oxon Hill Bicycle and Trail Club's annual ride to showcase Prince George’s County’s Patuxent River Rural Legacy Area, where farms, wetlands, and woods are being protected from development with Maryland’s Rural Legacy Program. $15 pre-registration or $20 on day of the ride includes after-ride picnic. Sunday June 14	Tour dem Parks, Hon! Baltimore, MD. 14, 20, 30, and 60 miles from Carroll Park. Benefits organizations involved with Baltimore City Park system. 14 mile tour goes along the newly completed Gwynns Fall Trail in the Gwynns Falls Valley, the 20 mile tour goes through many of the City’s parks and waterfront areas, the 30-plus mile tour goes through all of the City’s major parks, as well as many waterfront areas and historic neighborhoods, and the 60-mile century route is new this year.
Sunday June 14	National Capital Tour de Cure Reston, VA. 12, 33, 63, and 100 miles from Reston Town Center. Registration fee of $15.00 until March 31, then $25.00. All cyclists must raise the minimum of $175 to participate, in addition to the registration fee. The 22nd annual Bike Virginia event will take you on a journey through the area nestled between the flatlands of the east coast and the peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains - Charlottesville, Culpeper, and Orange, VA.

Saturday June 20	Delaware Leap Frog Bicycle Tour Felton, DE. 32 and 64 miles on mostly flat routes in central and lower Delaware. Presented by the Downstate Delaware Striders and Riders. $15 until June 17th ($20 after and on event day ) covers water bottle, a map and marked course, and food/rest stops.
Sunday June 28	Bay to Bay Ride Betterton, MD. 50, 78, 86, or 104 miles flat, also a 27 mile loop ride to Historic Chestertown. Rides from the Betterton beach front. Start 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. (special tandem start 8:00 a.m.) $20.00 until May 15, 2008, after that $25.00. Includes: map, marked routes, mini wallet (first 300 riders), sag, 6 food stops, swimming in the Chesapeake Bay at the end of the ride. Proceeds benefit Lions Club Leader Dog Program for the Blind. Saturday July 11	Total 200 Washington, DC. 200 miles from Washington, DC to Point Lookout Park, MD and back in one day. Yes, 200 miles -- 100 before lunch and 100 after lunch. Registration fee is $75; $95 after April 15. Proceeds benefit the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) in their efforts to SAVE THE BAY.
Saturday July 11 - Tuesday July 14	The Greatest Bicycle Tour of the Historic C&O Canal . Almost 200 miles on the C&O Canal. No hills, no headwinds, & no cars. Plenty of food, lots of support, ride at your own pace, well organized. This popular tour is an annual fundraising event which benefits the San Mar Children's Home in Boonsboro, Maryland. Participants must pay a $35 registration fee ($55 after June 1) and turn in at least $450 in pledges ($400 for those riding for only the weekend). For those exceeding minimum amounts there are prizes awarded for going above and beyond. Your registration fee and pledges provide transportation by charter bus to the start of the C&O Canal, all meals and snacks, free parking for your vehicle throughout the event, rest stops every ten to fifteen miles, camp fees paid for the first two nights or transportation to nearby hotels, hotel on the third night, transport of all gear throughout the event, T-shirt, water bottle, a TGBT patch, and return to your vehicle by charter bus from Georgetown at end of event.
Saturday July 18	The Black & Blue Grayson County, VA. 200 miles from Grayson Highlands State Park near the base of Mount Rogers (5729'), the highest peak in Virginia. The course primarily follows scenic, country roads as it winds its way through North Carolina's High Country to the finish in Asheville. This double century relay will showcase the demanding mountainous roads and notable rivers of Southwestern Virginia and Western North Carolina. Named for the difficulty and to reflect the Black Mountains and Blue Ridge Mountains through which the course traverses, The Black & Blue is sure to be a bike challenge like no other. The course features some of the region's most spectacular scenery including the balds of Grayson Highlands State Park, the New River, Toe River, Cane River, and Grandfather Mountain (5964'). The Black & Blue consists of 1 to 8 person teams that rotate through 1 to 8 stages as they cover the 200-mile distance and 21,758' of elevation change. Riders will complete anywhere from 25 miles to 200 miles.
Saturday July 25	Shenandoah Valley Bike Festival Harrisonburg, VA. 5, 25, 50, and 100 miles. Experience the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley by bicycle and support Our Community Place. The rides range from a 5-mile family-friendly "Stroll" through downtown Harrisonburg to a 100-mile "Century Ride" over the rolling roads of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Your donation of $20, which is tax-deductible--$25 after July 15th, includes the registration fee, a t-shirt, ride maps, ride support, rest stops, mechanical support, water and Gatorade, and shower facilities. Saturday August 8	Eat A Peach Challenge Bike Ride Westminster, MD. 12, 33, 40, 67, and 100 miles through Carroll and Frederick Counties. Start and finish at the Peach Festival at the Carroll County Agricultural Center in Westminster, MD. Sponsored by Brain Injury Association of Maryland. Get together a team and have a great day, enjoy some peach cobbler, peach pie, and a peach sundae, and raise money for a good cause!
Saturday August_15	Cheat Mountain Challenge Century Ride and Metric Century Snowshoe Mountain, WV. 71.1 and 108.5 miles. $45 registration fee includes a high quality map, water bottle, custom ride number and finish line gift. The registration fee increases to $55 after April 1, 2009 and increases again to $75 after July 1st. T-shirt is $10, breakfast bag $7, and after ride buffet $20. Saturday Sept 12	Amish Country Bike Tour Dover, DE. 15, 25, 50, 62 and 100 mile loops plus 25 mile competitive race. All ages and abilities; rest stops including the famous Amish school house where the Amish serve homebaked pies and cookies. Plenty of healthy food stops. After-tour party, live music, yard games and catered picnic all for the price of only $25 for adults and $10 for children under 16 ($30 and $15 after August 21). Sponsored by Kent County Tourism and benefits Central Delaware YMCA, Prostate Cancer Research, and Amish Schoolhouse Education Fund.

Sunday Sept 13	Southern Maryland Fall Century - the Indian Head 100 Indian Head, MD. 16, 29, 63, and 100 miles from the Village Green Park in the town of Indian Head, at the southernmost end of MD 210 [Indian Head Highway] (20 miles south of Washington Beltway exit 3-A). Cycle through scenic and historic Southern Maryland. Sponsored by the Oxon Hill Bicycle and Trail Club. $20 advance registration ($25 on day of ride) includes marked route, map and cue sheet, food and drink at rest stops, sag support, and after-ride picnic. Sunday Sept 13	Save-A-Limb Ride and Festival Cockeysville, MD. 6, 30, and 63 miles from Oregon Ridge Park. Sponsored by the Save-A-Limb Fund at Sinai Hospital. Ride along with cycle legend Robbie Ventura,through Maryland’s beautiful horse farms and rolling countryside while raising money for an worthwhile cause. Registration fee covers a goodie bag filled with fun sports related items, a commemorative event T-shirt, post-ride picnic, fitness fair, and carnival. For the 30 and 63 mile rides the registration fee is $25 plus a minimum pledge of $75. For the 6 mile ride the fee is $25. Team Rate (6 riders) is $500 minimum pledge, no entry fee.

Saturday Sept 19	Bike Doctor's St. Michaels Historic Century St. Michael’s, MD. 30, 62.5, and 100 miles on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The flat country roads are great for training as well as sightseeing. The rest stops are strategically placed to allow riders to relax and see expansive views to the water. The full Century route has a 20-minute ferry ride across the Tred Avon River to Oxford. There will be support staff at St. Michael’s Elementary School and staffed aid stations along the route. Check in and late Registration for the ride begins at 7:00 a.m. Start time is at 8:00 a.m., and strongly urge everyone to leave at this time. Saturday Sept 19	Harford County Pink Ribbon Ride Harford Community College, Bel Air, MD 4, 12, 25, 40, 62 and 100 miles (which combines the 40 and 62 mile routes) around Harford Community College and throughout Harford County. Proceeds raised will support the programs of the Chesapeake Cancer Alliance. Rides will leave from the Susquehanna Center Building on the campus of Harford Community College starting at 7 AM. Marked routes, SAG, rest stops, cue sheets, maps provided as well as lunch. Massages will be available from 11 to 3 thanks to the generously donated services of Siesta Massage Services. Showers available for use after the ride. $30 if preregistered by September 5, 2009 and $35 after September 5 and day of ride. Graduated fees for family members participating in the ride. Teeshirts available for $17 with preregistration. Limited number of shirts will be available for sale on day of ride. Saturday Sept 26	Northern Neck RiverRide Kilmarnock, VA. 10, 25, 50, 62 and 100 miles in Virginia's Northern Neck peninsula located between the Rappahannock and Potomac rivers. $60 registration includes lunch and t-shirt. $40 for youth 13-17; $25 for youth 7-12. $5 late fee after September 1. Spend the weekend on lovely, rural, Northern Neck, on Virginia's western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Free on-site camping on the river Friday and Saturday. Sunday Sept 27	Cannonball Century Hartwood, VA. 35, 62 and 100 miles from Curtis Memorial County Park through the beautiful countryside of Stafford and Fauquier Counties. Sponsored by the Fredericksburg Cyclists. The ride is fairly flat with some rolling hills. Well stocked rest stops featuring homemade breads, cue sheets, well marked routes, SAG vehicles, mechanical support by Olde Towne Bicycles, and communication services offered by the Rappahannock Amateur Radio Club. At the end of the ride stay and enjoy a free lunch accompanied by chips, sodas, and a dessert - all prepared especially for you by the Club's chefs extraordinaire. Saturday Oct 3 - Sunday Oct 4	Bike MS: Bike to the Bay 2009 Middletown, DE. 30 and 60 miles from Appoquinimink High School through rural Delaware to Blackbird State Forest and back. At the end of the ride, enjoy a light lunch and beverages. All participants receive a free event T-shirt. Top fundraisers will be awarded gift certificates from local bike shops. Sunday Oct 4	Tour du Port Baltimore, MD. 12, 19, 41, and 52 miles. Join thousands of riders at Baltimore's Canton Waterfront Park to kick off the 16th Annual Tour du Port! Cycle through historic neighborhoods, waterfront areas and parks. This fully supported Tour includes lunch, refreshments at rest stops, map, SAG and a post-ride celebration with live music at the Tour's end. The Tour is One Less Car’s annual fundraiser - all fees go directly to advancing the programs and advocacy efforts of One Less Car, the non-profit organization dedicated to walking, bicycling and mass transit in Maryland. Sunday Oct 11	The Civista Potomac Heritage Bicycle Tour La Plata, MD. 14, 33, 60, 80, and 100 miles through Southern Maryland. All routes, except the casual 14-mile family ride, will take cyclists along the scenic on-road bicycle route of the Potomac Heritage Trail National Scenic Trail. Cyclists will return to La Plata to the Crossing at Casey Jones, where they will enjoy an after-ride party with food and entertainment. $30.00 per rider until October 1, 2009 and $35.00 after October 1, 2009. Registration fee includes t-shirts for the first 250 riders to register. Come ride for your health and the health of those served by the Civista Medical Center. Saturday Oct 17	Bike DC Washington, DC 12 and 25 miles. Bike DC is your one opportunity each year to enjoy our Capital, our community in a very special way--by bicycle on car-free streets. The registration fee for Capital Ride of 25 miles is $35 for adults ($45 on the day of the event) and free for Children 15 and younger. The registration fee for the Family Ride of 12 miles is $25 for adults ($35 on the day of the event) and free for children 15 and younger.

Saturday Oct 24	Between the Waters Bike Tour Wachapreague, VA. 20, 40, 60, and 100 miles through interesting historic towns and communities and along back roads to scenic rest stops that overlook the Atlantic seaside and the Chesapeake Bay. This one day bike tour is an ecotourism event and fundraiser for Citizens for a Better Eastern Shore, a non-profit organization serving Northampton and Accomack counties. Online registration or you may download a mail-in registration form. $40 per rider until October 2--$50 after October 2. Children 7-12 yrs. $15 per rider until October 2--$20 after October 2. Children 6 yrs & under free, but require a registration form and signed release form. All riders who register by October 2 will receive a T-shirt.
