Unless otherwise stated, rides may be canceled  or delayed if chance of rain is 50% on 30l-936-l2l2, or if the temperature is below 40 degrees F one hour before the ride. Call the leader to confirm.

PATUXENT LEGACY Class B 35-40 mi. 10 am from Gwynn Park High School. 35 - 40 miles journey to the rural areas along the Patuxent River. We'll definitely visit the Merkle Sanctuary and might also go to Mount Calvert. Distance depends on the weather. Joint ride with PPTC. Dir: From I-95 take Exit 7-A (Md 5 south) and go 8.8 miles to Brandywine Rd. (Md 381). Turn left and go 0.3 mile to Brandywine entrance to the school. Follow the entrance to the left to the parking lot along Brandywine Road.

Dir: Take Beltway exit for Central Ave. (Md 214) east. Turn right on Md. 202; at second traffic light turn right into campus; bear right through parking area; then turn left and proceed to Novak parking area on your left.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON ON THE HENSON CREEK TRAIL Class C/D 12+ mi. 2:00 pm from Henson Creek Neighborhood Park, Temple Hills. Enjoy a relaxed Sunday afternoon ride on the 6 mile long Henason Creek Trail. Dir: From the Beltway take the St. Barnabas Road/MD-414 exit $4B exit towards Marlow Heights on Saint Barnabas Road, after 1.3 mi. turn right on Hagan Road, after 0.4 mi. bear right on Temple Hill Road. for 1.1 mi. to park on right. From Branch Avenue, take Allentown Rd./MD-337/Camp Springs/Andrews AFB exit, west on Allentown Road towards Camp Springs, 0.4 mi. to right on Brinkley Road, 1.0 mi. to right on Temple Hill Road, 0.7 mi to park on left.

COSCA FUN FORTY Class A/AA 40 mi. 10 am from Cosca Regional Park, Athletic Field entrance. We'll climb some hills throughout this ride including thrift road at the end as we dream of the warmer weather to come. Ride goes if temps are at least 27 1 hour before ride start. Call leaders if in doubt. Dir: From Beltway exit 7A go south on Md 5 (Branch Ave). Go 4 miles then turn right on Woodyard Rd. (Md 223) for 1 mile. Next turn left on Brandywine Rd for 1 mile. Bear right onto Thrift Rd. Go about 1.4 miles to Louise Cosca Regional Park. Use Athletic Field entrance, first on right. Follow drive, park on left. map

PISGAH TO THE POTOMAC Class A/AA 43 mi. 10:00 am from Pisgah Firehouse. Enjoy rolling, rolling, rolling hills on lightly traveled roads in Charles County. Bring snacks. Dir:  South on MD 210 (Indian Head Hwy), from Beltway, 18 miles to Indianhead, Left on MD 225 for 1.6 miles, right on MD 224 for 0.2 miles, Left on MD 425 for 3.4 miles, left on Poorhouse Rd and immediate right into parking lot of firehouse.

ACCOKEEK TO HORSEHEAD Class B 35 mi. 10:00 am from Accokeek Firehouse. The ride covers some of the club's favorite roads, but with a different starting place (Accokeek Firehouse). After the first 5 miles or so, it's mostly flat!! Dir: Take MD 210 South (Indianhead Hwy), approximately 10 miles from the beltway. Make right on Livingston Rd at the Accokeek Rd 373 light (B&J Barbecue on the right corner). Go approximately 3/4 miles to firehouse. Park in the rear.

So come on out and enjoy the scenery, while getting back in shape for all biking yet to come!!! Go about 2.3 mile to Bowie Ice Arena in Allen Pond Park. Restroom near snack bar or in skating rink when open.

HILLS BY THE BAY Class A/AA 45 mi. 10:00 am from Southern Middle School (in Anne Arundel County). Very nice scenic ride through Anne Arundel County with a stop at North Beach. Rolling Hills. Dir: From I-95 Exit 11-A take Pennsylvania Avenue (Md 4) 10 miles past Upper Marlboro to Waysons Corner. Take the exit for Md 408 through Waysons Corner and go 5.6 miles to a roundabout. Take the second exit from the roundabout onto Md 2 north. Continue 3 miles to the Middle School on your left.  Take the first exit from the roundabout onto Md 2 SOUTH and go 0.6 miles to the Middle School, NOT north to the High School.

RIDE CLASSIFICATIONS

D CASUAL RIDES, 5 to 15 miles, average moving speed from 8 to 10 mph, but may vary depending on terrain, traffic, and ability of riders. Frequent stops, every 5 miles. Terrain should be flat or rolling.
C SHORT TOURING, 30 miles or less in length. Average Moving Speed (AMS) from 10 to 12 mph. Uphill slows down substantially. Stops planned every 5 to 10 miles.
CC EASY TOURING, AMS between 12 and 13 mph; cruising speeds may reach 15 mph. Uphill pace slows down substantially. Stops every 10 to 15 miles.
B TOURING. AMS between 13.1 and 15.0 mph; cruising speeds may reach 18 mph. Uphill pace slows down quite a bit. Rest stops every 10 to 15 miles.
A FAST TOURING. AMS between 15.1 and 17.0 mph. Riders on fast touring work to keep up the pace on hills. Rest stops planned every 15 to 25 miles.
AA FAST TRAINING. AMS between 17.1 to 19.+ mph. Pace lines approach 25 mph. Rest stops every 25 to 50 miles.
